MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee Area Technical College women's volleyball team held its end‑of‑year banquet Sunday, April 19 at The Explorium Brewpub in the Deer District, the program's first full gathering since the season concluded last fall. Players, families and supporters came together to celebrate a 30–12 campaign that secured the Stormers' third straight winning season.
The evening featured a season‑highlight video, a team meal and a series of individual and team awards recognizing both athletic performance and academic achievement.
Head coach
Shel DeLisle opened the program by reflecting on the group's growth throughout the year. Eleven Stormers earned All‑Academic recognition, a point of pride for a team that continues to excel not only on the court but also in the classroom.
"It is always a proud moment when a team that wins on the court also demonstrates that they win in the classroom," DeLisle said. "It is a testament to their drive to succeed and be the best version of themselves."
The Stormers also honored their three captains — first‑year captain and setter
Hope Martens, sophomore middle
Kendall Revolinski and libero Kim Busateri — a trio that anchored the team's leadership core.
"Our captains brought maturity and thoughtfulness into the gym," DeLisle said. "They were empathetic and focused leaders who served as great role models for those around them."
Individual awards followed, including presentations for the program's
three All‑Region honorees. Each player received her own plaque: Busateri for her First Team selection, and
Rachel Krueger and
Natalia Farrugia for their Second Team honors earned in the fall.
Busateri also received the team's Defensive MVP Award and was recognized for a career that reshaped the MATC record book. She finished with 1,462 career digs, nearly 500 more than the previous mark held by 2023 graduate Tanisha Aguilera (895). She set additional program records in digs per set (5.35), career aces (153) and single‑season digs (808 in 2025), surpassing her own previous record of 634 from 2024. Busateri also holds multiple top‑10 performances for digs in a match, including the No. 1 effort with 43 against Moraine Valley.
"Kim is an incredible player who leaves big shoes to fill," DeLisle said. "Her volley IQ, ability to run the back‑row defense and work ethic combine to make her an elite competitor."
Farrugia was named the team's Offensive MVP after a breakout season as a transfer from Missouri Western State. She set the single‑season aces record (98) and finished fourth all‑time in both points (436.5) and hitting percentage (.275).
"Natalia was a great addition to our squad," DeLisle said. "She played multiple positions equally well for us and was unflappable on the court and a team favorite off the court. We are super excited to have her returning in the fall."
Freshman
Annika Romine was also recognized for her record‑setting year in the middle. She established new program marks in hitting percentage (.327) and single‑season blocks (123), placing her ahead of former record holder and current assistant coach Colleen DeLisle (.319), 2025 graduate Paige Siehr (.316) and current teammate Farrugia (.275).
Freshman Kohral Bomar‑Reese earned the Stormers Spirit Award for her energy and presence both on the sideline and on the floor.
"Kohral was a high‑energy player who kept the team engaged on the sidelines and lifted their spirits on the court," DeLisle said. "She is the spark plug every team needs."
The night closed with photos, conversations and a shared sense of appreciation for a roster that continued to raise the standard of Stormers volleyball.
