MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee Area Technical College women's volleyball program has earned the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, marking just the second time in program history the Stormers have received the national honor. MATC was one of 1,432 collegiate and high‑school programs recognized for maintaining a year‑long team GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale).
Head coach
Shel DeLisle said the award underscores the program's commitment to developing well‑rounded student‑athletes.
"I am always so proud when our players show that they are great student‑athletes or humans along with being great athletes on the court," DeLisle said.
MATC matched its academic success with another strong season on the floor, posting its second straight 30‑plus‑win campaign and advancing to the semifinal round of the NJCAA Division II Region 4 Midwest A District Tournament. The Stormers finished 30–12 in 2025, securing the program's third consecutive winning season.
