LAKE VILLA, Ill. — The MATC men's tennis team wrapped up its weekend road trip Sunday with a 9–0 loss to Illinois Valley Community College at Lakes Community High School.
Editor's note: MATC is competing this season with only three eligible players and therefore must forfeit No. 2 and No. 3 doubles along with No. 4–6 singles in every dual match.
Illinois Valley controlled the three contested singles courts, though MATC produced competitive stretches throughout the lineup. At No. 1 singles,
Braxton Brusky opened with a solid first set before falling 6–3, 6–0.
Peyton Kuzminski followed with steady early play at No. 2 in a 6–4, 6–0 defeat, and
Isaiah Marin worked through multiple extended rallies at No. 3 before dropping a 6–1, 6–1 decision.
In the lone contested doubles match, Brusky and Kuzminski generated multiple long exchanges at No. 1 before IVCC pulled away for an 8–0 result.
