ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — The MATC men's tennis team dropped an 8–1 road match Saturday at Oakton College, with freshman
Isaiah Marin delivering the Stormers' point at No. 3 singles.
Editor's note: MATC is competing this season with only three eligible players and therefore must forfeit No. 2 and No. 3 doubles along with No. 4–6 singles in every dual match.
Singles play produced MATC's strongest stretches of the afternoon. Marin set the tone early at No. 3 singles, controlling rallies and dictating pace throughout a 6–2, 6–1 victory. The result marked his second individual win of the season. At the top of the lineup,
Braxton Brusky worked through long exchanges before falling 6–0, 6–1 at No. 1 singles, and
Peyton Kuzminski followed with a steady, composed effort in a 6–3, 6–2 loss at No. 2.
In doubles, Brusky and Kuzminski generated several extended rallies in the lone contested court before Oakton pulled away for an 8–0 decision at No. 1 doubles.
