LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. — Competing with only three players for the duration of the season, the MATC men's tennis team continued to battle through adversity in a 9–0 road loss Sunday at College of Lake County.
The Stormers were forced to forfeit five courts — No. 2 and No. 3 doubles along with No. 4–6 singles — but still produced competitive stretches in every match they played.
In the lone contested doubles match,
Braxton Brusky and
Peyton Kuzminski took the No. 1 court, pushing rallies and generating early chances before falling 8–0.
All three Stormers earned points in singles action, showing improved rhythm and extended exchanges across the top of the lineup. Brusky held his own at No. 1 singles, Kuzminski followed with a steady performance at No. 2, and
Isaiah Marin added a strong effort at No. 3 as each player secured games and created pressure throughout their matches.
"All three men played well against a very strong CLC team," MATC head coach Mark Picard said. "While the scores don't show it, they made CLC players earn everything they got. We just weren't able to win the big points."
