GLENDALE, Wis. — MATC men's tennis opened both its season and home schedule Friday evening but came up short in its opener, falling 9–0 to Prairie State at the Paley Tennis Center. With only three players available, the Stormers were forced to forfeit multiple positions and dropped all three contested singles matches and the No. 1 doubles court in the dual.
Prairie State took control early as freshman
Braxton Brusky and sophomore
Peyton Kuzminski fell 8–1 at No. 1 doubles. In singles play, Brusky dropped a 6–0, 6–0 decision at No. 1, while Kuzminski fell 6–0, 6–1 at No. 2. Freshman
Isaiah Marin competed at No. 3 singles and battled through multiple rallies before falling 6–1, 6–0.
With only three rostered players, MATC was forced to forfeit No. 4–6 singles and No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, giving Prairie State the remaining points needed to complete the 9–0 sweep.
The Stormers will look to build rhythm and depth as their young lineup gains early‑season experience.
