GLENDALE, Wis. — MATC men's tennis earned its first point of the season Saturday behind a dominant straight‑set win from sophomore Peyton Kuzminski, but the Stormers fell 8–1 to College of DuPage at Elite Sports Club–North Shore, dropping them to 0–2 on the season.

With only three players available, MATC again forfeited No. 4–6 singles and No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, creating an early deficit before play began.

In the lone contested doubles match, Braxton Brusky and Kuzminski fell 8–1 at No. 1 doubles.

Kuzminski responded with the Stormers' first point of the season at No. 2 singles, rolling to a 6–0, 6–0 victory, which also marked his first win of his sophomore campaign.

"Peyton played a great match," MATC head coach Mark Picard said. "He applied the drills we work on in practice, controlled the neutral balls, and did a fantastic job recognizing when he had chances to go on the offensive."

Freshman teammate Isaiah Marin pushed his match to a third‑set tiebreaker before falling 7–5, 2–6, 10–5 at No. 3 singles.

"Isaiah also competed well, even though he lost in a third‑set tiebreak," Picard said. "He just needed a little more consistency down the stretch."

Brusky dropped a 6–0, 6–0 decision at No. 1 singles, and DuPage secured the remaining points through forfeits to complete the 8–1 win.
