STERLING, Ill. – The Milwaukee Area Technical College men's tennis team nearly pulled off its first win of the 2025 season Saturday against Sauk Valley.
Having combined to win just two points over its first three matches this season, the Stormers went on to double their season point total, winning 4-of-9 points in a 5-4 road loss to the Skyhawks.

Ethan Ramsey, and
Vanchai Thao collectively led the Stormers with straight-set victories in singles play.
Peyton Kuzminski also added a singles win after earning a third-set tiebreaker (4-6, 7-5, 10-4) victory over Elias Jensen. MATC went 0-for-2 in doubles action. Sauk Valley earned three forfeit wins, two of which came in singles play.
McHenry 8, Stormers 1
GLENDALE, Wis. – The Stormers returned home Sunday for a home contest against McHenry, where they wound up taking an 8-1 defeat to drop to 0-5 on the season.
Vanchai Thao picked up MATC's only win, claiming a 6-2, 6-4, two-set victory over Chris Weber.
