MILWAUKEE, Wis - Milwaukee Area Technical College women's volleyball lost a hard-fought match on Saturday to Western Technical College at home.
The battle lasted 5 sets with Milwaukee winning the first set 26-24. The second and third sets went to Western before Milwaukee bounced back to win the fourth set. Western outlasted Milwaukee in the fifth set with a score of 15-10, winning the match 3-2.
The Stormers saw key contributions from their three second year players.
Kayla Bockhop led the team with 18 assists, 3 blocks, 5 kills and 4 service aces.
Miranda Barclay led the team in kills with 11 and 3 service aces, and
Destiny Mercer led the team in digs with 11.

Zariah Avery added 3 solo blocks and freshman middle hitter
Alyssa Chatman had 4 kills; both showed excellent defensive play.
The women's volleyball team has a rough week ahead with a match Tuesday at home against Harper College, who is currently ranked #1 in the NJCAA national poll. Things don't get much easier as they travel to Madison College to take on the #2 ranked team on Thursday.
