MATC Secures Third Straight Week at No. 5 in National Rankings

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee Area Technical College men's basketball team held its ground in the national picture once again, remaining at No. 5 in the Week 14 NJCAA Division II poll released Feb. 23, 2026. The Stormers have now occupied the No. 5 spot for three consecutive weeks after first rising to the position on Feb. 2.

MATC stayed steady following another unbeaten stretch, closing out its final week of regular‑season play with three decisive victories — powering past Blackhawk Tech, Illinois Valley, and Harper College to complete a 3–0 run. Now 27–3 overall, the Stormers continue to stand as the highest‑ranked program in Region 4. Three additional Region 4 teams appear in this week's poll: No. 10 South Suburban, No. 17 Bryant & Stratton, and No. 20 Rock Valley.

With the regular season behind them, the Stormers now shift fully into postseason mode. Ranked No. 5 nationally and riding a 20‑game win streak, MATC enters the 2026 Region 4 Men's Basketball Division II (Midwest District A) Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed after assembling one of the strongest campaigns in recent memory.

MATC will host No. 16 Prairie State on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m., marking the Stormers' final home appearance before the tournament shifts to Rock Valley College for the quarterfinal and championship rounds.
