No. 5 Stormers Rack Up 31 Assists, Roll to 18th Straight Win at Blackhawk

JANESVILLE, Wis. — No. 5 Milwaukee Area Technical College turned in its most unselfish performance of the season Monday night, piling up a season‑high 31 assists while shooting 68 percent from the field in a 125–53 rout of Blackhawk Technical College. The Stormers (25–3) moved the ball with ease from the opening tip, scoring 59 points in the first half and 66 more after the break to extend their winning streak to 18 games.

Stormers head coach Randy Casey said he was most impressed with the team's approach.

"I was very pleased with our overall team performance last night," Casey said. "Finishing a game with 31 assists shows we played with a true team‑first mentality. We competed on both ends of the floor, and everyone contributed."

MATC blew the game open almost immediately, scoring the first five points and racing to a 20–8 lead behind early baskets from Jayden Hackett, Ozzie Johnson and Qi'Andre Washington. The Stormers pushed the margin to 28–15 and then 39–19 as their starters repeatedly converted in transition, eventually closing the half on a 20–9 run to take a 59–28 advantage into the break.

MATC's efficiency stretched across the lineup, with every starter delivering a standout statistical night. Washington opened 5‑for‑6 from the field (83 percent) for 10 points, while Raydelh Boutin posted a perfect 3‑for‑3 line and added eight points with two assists. Hackett turned in one of the most complete performances of the night, scoring 12 points on 5‑of‑7 shooting (71 percent) while adding six rebounds, five assists and a steal. Noah Daniels matched him with 12 points on an identical 5‑for‑7 effort and handed out a team‑high eight assists. Johnson added 11 points on 5‑of‑6 shooting (83 percent) and grabbed four rebounds as the starting unit combined to shoot an astounding 23‑for‑29 (79 percent).

Off the bench, sophomore forward Turon Rivers powered in a team‑high 16 points on 8‑for‑11 shooting (73 percent), and sophomore guard Jordan Jones added 14 on 6‑of‑7 accuracy (86 percent) with two steals. Freshman guard Aidan Chapman contributed 13 points and four assists, while Kamarion Ivory (nine points), Brendan Nesbary (eight points, seven rebounds, two steals), Sterling Hoarde (six points, seven assists, four steals) and Jason Lawani (six points, six rebounds) rounded out one of MATC's deepest and most efficient offensive performances of the season.

The team numbers underscored MATC's dominance on both ends of the floor. The Stormers shot 68.4 percent from the field compared with Blackhawk's 30 percent and doubled the Hawks from three, hitting 12‑of‑27 (44.4 percent) while holding them to 8‑for‑37 (21.6 percent). MATC controlled the glass with a 48–25 rebounding advantage and nearly tripled Blackhawk in assists, 31–12, while committing just nine turnovers. The Stormers turned those mistakes into 25 points and outscored the Hawks 19–5 in second‑chance points and 74–22 in the paint. MATC's bench added a staggering 72 points, further highlighting the depth and efficiency that powered the program's 18th straight win.
