OGLESBY, Ill. —
Jayden Hackett and
Raydelh Boutin delivered a commanding backcourt performance Monday night, combining for 51 points to lead No. 12 Milwaukee Area Technical College to a 110–102 win at Illinois Valley Community College. The victory extended the Stormers' winning streak to eight and moved them to 15–3 on the season.
Hackett sparked MATC's offense from deep, drilling five 3‑pointers and finishing with a game‑high 27 points, while Boutin's all-around impact steadied the Stormers throughout the night. The sophomore guard added 24 points, six rebounds, nine assists and three steals as MATC built a 48–42 halftime lead and kept control in a fast‑paced matchup where both teams shot better than 50 percent.
"We didn't come out ready to play, but we were able to turn it around and take the lead by halftime," Stormers head coach
Randy Casey said. "We played a lot better in the second half and being able to get a Region 4 win on the road is big.
"Hackett had a big game for us, especially in the second half with 19 of his 27 points coming in the second half. Boutin also had a big second half and overall great game for us by finishing with an impressive stat line of 24 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 steals."
MATC's depth rounded out the effort, with
Turon Rivers providing 16 points on 7‑for‑9 shooting off the bench and
Ozzie Johnson adding 14 points and six rebounds.
Qi'Andre Washington chipped in 10 points, four assists and a team‑high five steals as the Stormers shot 53.2 percent from the field and placed five players in double figures. MATC also held a 43–33 rebounding advantage, generating second‑chance opportunities and steady interior scoring that kept IVCC from mounting a late rally.
