RIVER GROVE, Ill. — Milwaukee Area Technical College saw its two‑game winning streak come to an end Thursday night, falling 86–60 on the road to Triton despite a strong outing from sophomore guard Rachel Schlies, who led the Stormers with 22 points. The loss drops MATC to 7–8 on the season and 4-5 on the road.

The game swung early as MATC managed just five points in a difficult first quarter, falling behind 28–5 and spending the rest of the night trying to climb out of the hole. The Stormers played Triton evenly over the final three periods, but the early deficit proved too steep to overcome.

"We came out flat and timid against a Triton team that was well rested and motivated to start the second half of the season," MATC head coach Arom Murrell said.

As a team MATC shot 39.6 percent from the field and 5‑for‑11 from three while finishing with 15 assists, but the Stormers were hurt by 29 turnovers and a 42–34 rebounding deficit. Triton converted 30 field goals, including six threes, and went 20‑for‑30 at the line while placing four players in double figures.

Schlies led MATC with 22 points on 8‑for‑13 shooting and added four steals, while Laila Hamiel provided a spark off the bench with 13 points and six rebounds.

"Schlies had a great night shooting and was one of our lone bright spots on the night," Murrell said of his lone returner from last season.

Maniyah Woolridge added nine points and six boards, and Emani Summers finished with six points, four assists and a steal. Moriah Landry contributed five points and seven rebounds, and Sa'Nyai Mitchell added five assists.
