OAK CREEK, Wis. — The Milwaukee Area Technical College women's soccer team stayed perfect on the young season, earning its second straight 3–0 victory with a home win over Harper College on Wednesday. The Stormers played through hot and humid conditions and still produced another strong defensive performance and a balanced scoring effort. 

"I couldn't have been prouder of their effort today under the weather conditions, and there are teams that aren't playing today inside our region [Region4], and we were able to get this match in," Stormers head coach Aaron Gentry said. "It was really fun to get another shutout victory, and the team is starting to gel."

For the second straight match, freshman forward Anyelis Alamilla Cruz opened the scoring for the Stormers. She broke free on a left‑side breakaway, beat a defender with a sharp stop and pivot just outside the goalkeeper's box and lifted a high shot into the top‑right corner over the keeper's outstretched arms at the 29:30 mark to give MATC a 1–0 lead.

"That was kind of a similar goal that I made in high school," Cruz said. "It wasn't recorded or anything, but I just looked to my right and left and figured I needed to do something about it, and then it just happened. I don't really think when I score. I just look and take my shot."

MATC doubled the advantage early in the second half. Sophomore forward Vanessa Reyes finished in the 59th minute off a setup from freshman forward Vanessa Martinez Ramirez, who delivered a well‑placed assist to spring Reyes into space for the 2–0 lead.

Four minutes later, freshman midfielder Adalyn Raue added the final goal. Raue scored unassisted in the 63rd minute, pushing the margin to 3–0 and sealing MATC's second straight multi‑goal victory to open the season.

Harper generated pressure throughout the match, finishing with 12 total shots and seven shots on goal, but MATC sophomore keeper Caroline Buczynski turned away every attempt. Buczynski recorded seven saves — five in the first half and two in the second — to secure her second clean sheet of the season.

MATC finished with 16 shots, nine shots on goal and three corner kicks while controlling possession for long stretches and limiting Harper's clean looks in the attacking third.

The Stormers improved to 2–0 with the win, continuing a strong start to their 2026 campaign.

"We're hoping to make history for the third year in a row and get into the playoffs with a higher seed than we had last season," Gentry said. "Our participation numbers are better than they've been since I've been here, and we just want to keep making history for these young ladies and give young women in Wisconsin a place to play."

Alamilla Cruz, Reyes and Raue each scored to collectively lead the Stormers' attack. Reyes' goal came off an assist from Martinez Ramirez, while Cruz and Raue each scored unassisted. Buczynski finished with seven saves to earn her second shutout of the season.
