OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — Milwaukee Area Technical College baseball put on one of its best power displays of the season Thursday afternoon, launching three home runs and generating steady offense at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park. But 12 unearned runs and a wave of free passes proved too steep to overcome as the Stormers fell 19–9 in seven innings to Bryant & Stratton, which marked their third straight defeat.
Head coach
Caleb Bounds didn't mince words afterward.
"Really tough day at the yard," Bounds said. "We struggled to play defense today and it really hurt us. We just haven't been able to play a full game correctly for most of the year. One day we hit and play defense but the pitching struggles. The next day we throw up zeros on the mound but we don't execute offensively. This is a tough game and when you don't make the routine plays it makes it that much more difficult on ourselves."
Despite the defensive issues, MATC's offense was relentless.
Carson Sieler set the tone early with a two‑out solo homer and finished 3‑for‑4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Gavin Garnica added a two‑run blast and a walk, while
Hayden Fellows crushed a three‑run shot as part of a four‑run sixth inning that briefly trimmed the deficit.
The Stormers built a 3–0 lead through two innings and continued to generate traffic throughout the afternoon, drawing multiple walks and producing timely swings. But every surge was met with a Bryant & Stratton counterpunch. The Bobcats capitalized on MATC's miscues, turning a six‑run second inning, a five‑run fourth, and a seven‑run fifth into a runaway advantage despite recording only two hits in their biggest frame.
On the mound,
Jakeb Lequia took the loss after allowing 10 runs (five earned) over 3.1 innings.
Charlie Cefalu and Vinny Cameranesi worked in relief before
Connor Ziman steadied the game late with 1.1 scoreless innings.
Along with the home‑run trio,
Jaiden Jung and
Riley Emons each added a single, and
Austin Arnold reached base three times on walks and scored once.
