OAK CREEK, Wis. — Milwaukee Area Technical College baseball proudly announces that sophomore slugger Jaiden Jung, one of the most prolific hitters in program history, has signed with East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, where he will continue his career at the NCAA Division II level. The Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, native joins an ECU program competing in the Great American Conference, becoming the latest Stormer to advance to a four‑year school.

Jung's move to East Central comes on the heels of a sophomore season that reshaped MATC's record book and showcased his resilience. Despite the Stormers navigating an injury‑riddled year that resulted in a 23–32 finish, Jung emerged as the team's offensive anchor from Opening Day. After missing most of his 2024–25 freshman season due to injury, he returned this spring with one of the most explosive campaigns the program has ever seen, setting single‑season records for both home runs (9) and doubles (19).

His 2026 numbers reflected a complete, all‑around breakout. Jung led MATC in nearly every major offensive category, hitting .382 with a .489 on‑base percentage, 1.183 OPS, and .694 slugging percentage. He totaled a team-high 55 hits, including 18 doubles and nine home runs, while driving in 39 runs, scoring 41, drawing 20 walks, and stealing 12 bases. His ability to punish mistakes and consistently find gaps made him one of the most feared hitters in all of Region 4.

Reflecting on his season, Jung said the adversity he faced shaped his approach. "I know it wasn't the season any of us wanted due to the tremendous amounts of injuries, but I knew my role and knew what I needed to do to help out the team," Jung said. "Missing all of my 2024–25 season changed my perspective. Baseball can humble you real quick, and you can't take anything for granted — this game owes you nothing. I'm really excited and blessed to sign with ECU. Their program felt like the right fit, and they're an up‑and‑coming team."

Jung's sophomore surge capped a two‑year stint that ranks among the best in MATC history. He finished just under .345 for his career while collecting 27 doubles, 14 home runs, four triples, 77 RBIs, and 66 runs scored. His single‑season records for home runs and doubles — both set in 2026 — now stand atop the Stormers' leaderboard.

"Jaiden has been a staple in our lineup during his career," MATC head coach Caleb Bounds said. "He had an amazing career here at MATC. He led our program both on and off the field. With his blend of raw power, plate discipline and athleticism, Jung is expected to compete immediately at East Central and continue the momentum he built at MATC. He departs as one of the most decorated hitters in program history and the latest Stormer to move on to a four‑year institution.
