OAK CREEK, Wis. — Two members of the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) baseball team have been named to the 2024-25 NJCAA All-Midwest District/Region 4 Rawlings Gold Glove Team following standout defensive performances throughout the 2024-25 spring season.
Sophomore shortstop
Camdin Jansen, of Racine, was honored with a Gold Glove at his position. A defensive anchor in the middle infield, Jansen posted a .954 fielding percentage — second only to catcher
Brady Johnson (.994) among team leaders. Over 216 total chances, he recorded 151 assists, 55 putouts, and turned 20 double plays, committing just 10 errors all season.
"Cam was a great shortstop for us all year," MATC head coach
Caleb Bounds said. "He saved us so many runs and played every day. He solidified the middle infield and is very deserving of this award. I'm proud of Jansen and all the hard work he put in. It was his goal this year to win the Region 4 Gold Glove, and his dedication paid off."
Freshman center fielder
Cole Wissen, of Austin, Texas, was also named to the team as an outfielder. Wissen led all Stormer starters with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. In 72 total chances, he notched 70 putouts and two assists without committing a single error.
"Cole is special in the outfield," Bounds said. "He tracked down so many balls in the gaps and made some of the most incredible plays in center field. He also had two double plays. He made life a lot easier for our pitchers, knowing he was out there roaming center and tracking down fly balls."
