ESCANABA, Mich. — In the second night of a back-to-back competing in the Terrace Bay Hotel Holiday Classic against Bay College, the Milwaukee Area Technical College women's basketball team weren't able to find the same level of success as they did when they defeated North Central Michigan on Dec. 13.
The more the game went on the more it seemed as if the Stormers' couldn't keep up with the firepower of the Norse. MATC fell behind 18-16 after one quarter of play before going on to be outscored 61-29 over the final three quarters. It resulted in a 79-45 double-digit loss that moved the Stormers to 5-10 on the season.
Much like they have struggled with all season, MATC found itself unable to protect the rock. They totaled 35 turnovers, 10 of which came in the second quarter that afforded Bay College to take a 35-24 halftime lead. The costly mistakes afforded the Norse to record 38 points off turnovers.
Between the numerous turnovers and going 16-for-58 from the field (27.6 percent), the Stormers faced an uphill battle that they weren't able to conquer last Saturday.
