MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Milwaukee Area Technical College women's basketball team had little trouble dismantling Waubonsee Community College on the road Monday evening.
Led by their tenacious defense that held the Chiefs to 22.9 percent shooting from the field, the Stormers were able to quickly jump out to a 20-10 first-quarter lead before never looking back to take a decisive 80-51 victory. The road win helped snap a three-game skid and allowed MATC to improve its record to 3-5 on the year.
Outside of dominating on the defensive end, the Stormers put together a great display in the paint and on the glass. As a group, MATC scored 34 paint points and out-rebounded Waubonsee 49-40, while adding seven total blocks.
