MILWAUKEE, Wis. — First‑year head coach Samantha Doucette is ushering in a new era of MATC Women's Basketball, beginning with a 2026 recruiting class built to elevate a program that finished the 2025–26 season with a 16–15 overall record. In her first year at the helm, Doucette welcomes 10 newcomers to join lone returner Laila Hamiel, giving the Stormers a near‑complete roster overhaul heading into the winter.

The incoming 10‑player class carries a strong Midwest identity, featuring six signees from Minnesota, three from Wisconsin — including two Milwaukee natives — and one recruit from Florida. Of the 10 newcomers, five arrive with college experience, giving the Stormers a mix of seasoned transfers and high‑upside freshmen. Doucette and her staff believe the group's blend of skill, length, athleticism and positional versatility will help establish the foundation needed to push the program forward.

"This group is filled with competitors who embrace challenges, play with relentless effort, and are committed to getting better every day," Doucette said. "They bring a high level of skill to Milwaukee Area Tech, but what sets them apart is their determination, work ethic and willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed. As the newcomers arrive, Hamiel's return provides a steady anchor, offering leadership, toughness and familiarity with MATC's expectations. Her veteran presence gives the Stormers an important thread of continuity as the incoming class begins shaping the identity of Doucette's first roster.

From dynamic guards to versatile forwards, each signee brings a distinct strength to the roster, and together they form a foundation MATC expects to build upon as the program continues to rise under Doucette's leadership.
