OAK CREEK, Wis. — Milwaukee Area Technical College baseball is proud to announce that sophomore pitcher Alex Dvorak has signed with the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, where he will continue his academic and baseball career at the NCAA Division III level this fall. The Joliet, Illinois, native joins a Pioneers staff that went 21–19 this past season in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The 6‑foot‑3 right‑hander appeared in 10 games for MATC this past spring, making one start and logging 13 1/3 innings out of the Stormers' bullpen. He finished 0‑1 with no saves, struck out 14 batters and posted a 10.80 ERA and a 2.25 WHIP.

Across his two‑year Stormers career, Dvorak threw 23 innings, recorded 35 strikeouts, went 1‑0 and notched one save while allowing just 18 hits. An injury limited his availability this past season, but when healthy he showed the strikeout ability and arm strength that project well at the next level.

"I am really excited for Alex," MATC head coach Caleb Bounds said. "He unfortunately got injured right before our season and really limited his playing time this year. He had a very solid career here at MATC and I know he will continue to grow and get healthy at Platteville. I'm expecting a monster year for him next year at Platteville. We wish him the best." 

With a full offseason to regain full strength, Dvorak will look to contribute immediately to Platteville's pitching staff and continue his development at the Division III level.
