RIVER GROVE, Ill. – The Milwaukee Area Technical College baseball team played well against Triton College during its home doubleheader Wednesday, but they ultimately fell on the wrong end of two one-run losses to the Trojans.
In Game 1, the Stormers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third before allowing two unanswered runs in the bottom of the sixth. It left them to eventually suffer a 2-1 loss.
In Game 2, MATC couldn't overcome a 3-1 deficit after jumping out to another 1-0 lead in the third. This left them to drop its second game, 3-2.
"It was two tough games," MATC baseball coach
Caleb Bounds said. "It ultimately comes down to execution and we just didn't execute enough in the early innings when we had opportunities to score.
"That can change the whole complexity of the game," he added. "We have to be the aggressors and go take the win and not wait for it to come to us. We were very close and look forward to bouncing back this weekend!"
As a result of the pair of defeats to the Trojans, the Stormers moved to 7-8 overall and 4-4 on the road.
