MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The long awaited return for National Junior College Athletic Association postseason basketball is finally over!
Later this week, both the Milwaukee Area Technical College men's and women's basketball teams will begin their respective postseason journeys by competing in the NJCAA Region 4 Tournament.
On the men's side, the Stormers (12-17, 11-9 in Region 4) drew the No. 5 seed in the Midwest B District, where they are now set to face No. 4 seed Moraine Valley (15-15, 14-9 in Region 4) in the quarterfinals.
"Our matchup on Thursday is going to come down to who wants it more," MATC men's head coach
Randy Casey said. "We have played Moraine twice this year, with both teams winning on their home floor. We will have to put a full 40 minute game together and limit our mistakes. We lost to them a little over a week ago so hopefully the guys come ready to get them back. We will need everyone to be at their best and playing for each other."
MATC men's matchup with MVCC is set to tip-off at 6 p.m. (CST) on Thursday at Moraine Valley Community College. Earlier this season, the Stormers split a pair of regular season matchups against the Cyclones on Nov. 9 and Feb. 15, with each team claiming one double-digit win over one another.
