PALATINE, Ill. - Milwaukee Area Technical College softball team's bats came alive in game two and the Stormers split a doubleheader at Harper College on Tuesday, dropping game one 3-2 and flipping the script to win the second contest 22-1.

Game 1 – MATC 2, Harper 3
Game one of the doubleheader saw strong pitching performances from both teams, but ultimately Harper College secured the win.

Eleanor Henschel took the loss for MATC. She when six innings, giving up three runs (zero earned) on five hits, striking out eight, walking one, and recorded 18 outs.

Madison Johnson Hass when 2-for-3 for MATC at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the Stormers with two runs batted in (home run in the fifth, RBI single in the in the seventh).

Game 2 – MATC 22, Harper 1

The MATC softball team saw its offense break out in a major way in game two.

MATC got on the board in the first inning after
Madison Johnson Hass doubled, and
Ava Marx lined out, each scoring one run. Nine more MATC runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 11-0. A pitch, struck
Eleanor Henschel driving in a run, and error scored one run,
Ryen Pagano doubled, scoring three runs, Marx homered to left field, scoring two runs, and
Samantha Siehr tripled, scoring one run.

The Stormers added four more runs in the top of the third inning on five hits.
Chloe Sadowski homered to right field, scoring two runs,
Brookelyn Hopp singled, scoring one run, and Siehr Singled, scoring one run.

The runs continued to pour-in as MATC added to their lead with six runs in the top of the fifth inning thanks to home runs by Henschel and Marx.

Emma Staudt earned the win for MATC. She gave up three hits and one run over four innings, striking out seven and walking two.
Autumn Winkelman threw one inning of no-run ball in relief.

Milwaukee Area Technical College won game two by a final score of 22-1Â in just five innings as the game ended early due to the run rule.
