OAK CREEK, Wis. - A strong pitching performance from Emma Staudt helped lift the Stormers softball team to a game one win and a doubleheader split against Joliet Junior College on Friday.
 
Game 1 – MATC 19, Joliet 3
 
Emma stepped in the circle first for the Stormers and threw a complete game to lock down the victory. She gave up three hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking four.
 
After giving up three runs in the top of the first, the Stormers tied the game in the bottom of the first. MATC flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring eight runs on nine hits to take an 11-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Chloe Sadowski that drove in two.
 
Four more runs crossed the plate in the third inning for the Stormers to extend the lead to 15-3. Brookelyn Hopp grounded out, scoring one run, Ryen Pagano homered to left field, scoring two runs, and MacKenzy Schook singled, scoring one run. MATC added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth to put the Stormers up 19-3.
 
Game 2 – MATC 1, Joliet 6
 
In game two the bats went cold for the Stormers as they finished game two with only four hits. Bailee Judd went 1-for-2 on the day with one run batted in, and Sophia Hansen had two hits in four at bats. Brookelyn Hopp was the other Stormer to get a hit on the day.
