MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) men's basketball program is excited to announce the signing of 6-foot-5 guard/forward Jason Lawani, a transfer from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.
A native of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Lawani joins the Stormers after redshirting this past season at Augustana. He will be classified as a freshman at MATC, despite being more than a year removed from his prep career.
"We are excited to have Jason a part of our program," MATC head coach
Randy Casey said. "He is a very versatile player that will be able to play multiple positions for us. Coming off a medical redshirt year it might take him a little time to get back into things, but his hard work will pay off. We look for his physical play to be a big-time asset for us."
As a senior at Bolingbrook High School during the 2023–24 season, Lawani served as team captain and earned Herald News All-Area Honorable Mention honors. He also competed on the AAU circuit with Illinois Flight, where he continued to develop his skills and versatility on the court.
