OAK CREEK, Wis. – Three members of the Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers softball team were named to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II All-Region 4 Team for their efforts on the field during the 2024-25 spring season.
Ryen Pagano, a sophomore outfielder from Thiensville, was named to this year's All-Region 4 first team after previously being named an All-Region 4 third team selection during her freshman campaign in 2023-24. As a veteran playing in 51 games this past spring, Pagano had a breakout season by slashing .420/.508/.816 across 143 at-bats. Her totals included 60 hits, 49 RBIs, 45 runs, 22 walks, 11 home runs, and four stolen bases.
"Pagano's hard work off the field really blossomed over these last two years in our program," Stormers head coach Joe Kuntner said. "She was tied for the top vote getter [for outfielders] by all the Region 4 coaches, which shows her performance on the field did not go unrecognized."
Ava Marx, a sophomore corner infielder from Muskego, was also honored for her efforts by being named to the All-Region 4 second team. Despite battling some injuries down the final stretch of the season, Marx put together a stellar season at the plate. In 43 games, Marx slashed .500/.540/.821 across 112 at-bats that ended with 56 hits, 46 RBIs, 24 runs, 13 doubles, 10 walks, and seven home runs compared to just 11 strikeouts.
Sophia Hansen, a sophomore center fielder from Adell, rounded out the Stormers' All-Region selections after being named to the All-Region 4 third team as an outfielder. In her second season with MATC, Hansen went on to slash .399/.455/.665 over 158 at-bats, primarily hitting out of the leadoff spot. She finished with a team-best 63 hits to go along with 56 runs, 36 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, 15 walks, 13 doubles, seven home runs, and three triples.
"I am proud of what Ava and Sophie accomplished on and off the field," Kuntner said of Marx and Hansen. "Ava and Sophie are dedicated hard workers and I am thrilled the coaches recognized their performances."
