ESCANABA, Mich. – Milwaukee Area Technical College Men's Basketball narrowly defeated the Bay College Norse and improved to 8-2 on the season following Saturday night's victory.

The MATC Stormers and Bay College Norse exchanged shot after shot, like a pair of heavyweight fighters throwing haymakers in the center of the ring. When the dust settled, the Stormers were the last team standing with an 88-87 victory.

MATC trailed most of the contest and only had four short-stints where they had the lead. With 28 seconds left in the game MATC's Cyrus Little attacked the basket from the elbow and scored a contested basket to put the Stormers up 88-87. This was the first time MATC had the lead since the 4:22 mark in the first half.

Bay College got off several shots in the games remaining 16 seconds that fell short or rimmed out. Bay College's Ryan Sweeney rebounded the ball and had a putback that was released after the final buzzer and did not count.

Jayqan Hickles led the Stormers with 21 points. Ke'Varius "KJ" Taylor (18 points), Shamann Artis (11 points) and Brionne Williams (10 points) all scored double figures in the win.
