McHenry, Ill. – The Milwaukee Area Technical College women's basketball team overcame another early deficit and defeated McHenry County College.
After only scoring 6 points in the first quarter, the Stormers offense opened things up by outscoring the Scots 22-15 in the second quarter to tie the game at 28 points each. The Stormers started the third quarter with a 9-2 run, and didn't look back as they secured the 65-60 victory.
Sophomore
Brittany Kaltenberg led the Stormers with 25 points. Sophomore
Tara Jefferson had 13 points and 8 rebounds to just fall short of a double-double. Sophomore
Nwoye Green also had 13 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.
The Stormers will be on the road Friday and Saturday to take on Gogebic Community College and Northland Community & Technical College. MATC will return home next week (12/30) for a 6:00 PM tip vs University of Wisconsin – Waukesha.
