MILWAUKEE, Wis - The MATC men's basketball team led nearly the entire way against Fox Valley Technical College on Friday night as they beat the Foxes 101-52 to remain unbeaten on the season and improve to 2-0 overall.

MATC led by 35 points in the first half and by almost 50 points in the second half against an overmatched Fox Valley squad. The Stormers recorded a whopping 15 blocks in the game and had 25 assists as a team.

The Stormers nearly shot 60% in the second half as their hot second half shooting carried over from the first game. MATC shot just under 52% from the field in the game. Fox Valley shot well in the first half, connecting on 42% of their baskets but a swarming MATC defense limited them to 21% shooting in the second half, including 0-of-9 from distance.

MATC turned 30 Fox Valley turnovers into 42 points while the Foxes managed just 18 points on 24 Stormers turnovers. MATC dominated inside with 54 rebounds while Fox Valley managed 39.

D.J. Simpson played a little over 25 minutes in the game and had eight points, seven rebounds, and led the team with six blocks. Kyan Pleasant was the leading scorer for MATC with 18 points. He also had seven rebounds and seven assists.

Deonta Williams scored 17 points with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Evan Runkel put in 14 points and Cornin Daniel had ten points in just over ten minutes of playing time for the Stormers.

The Stormers host the College of Lake County on November 8. The game is currently scheduled for 8 p.m. but with no women's game before it, the start time could change. Check the schedule page on the website before coming to the game.
