MILWAUKEE, Wis - The MATC Stormers (3-1) women's basketball team dominated Olive-Harvey College on Saturday, 92-25. The Stormers held the Panthers to just one field goal each in the second and fourth quarters.
MATC built a 21-11 lead after the first quarter before really breaking things open in the second quarter by outscoring Olive-Harvey College 18-2. MATC only shot 31.4% from the field in the first half but did a lot of their damage from the charity stripe, connecting on 14-of-16 free throws as they built a 39-13 halftime lead. Olive-Harvey was just 1-12 shooting in the second quarter.
The Stormers shot 47% from the field in the second half, including 38% from distance. MATC did their job on defense as well, holding the Panthers to just 8-60 shooting from the field and 3-27 from behind the arc. The Stormers mustered 11 steals and won the turnover battle by a 2-to-1 margin, while out-rebounding Olive-Harvey College 71-40.
Four Stormers finished with double figure points, led by
Mickaiah Jones-Cogwell and
Brittany Kaltenberg with 18 points each.
Nwoye Green finished with 14 points and 9 rebounds.
Tara Jefferson had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
MATC heads on the road for three games before returning home to play the Concordia University-Wisconsin junior varsity team on December 1st at 6 PM.
