SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. — Milwaukee Area Technical College volleyball continued its dominant road run Wednesday evening, sweeping South Suburban College 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-15) to improve to 19-5 overall and 5-0 away from home.
The Stormers outmatched the Bulldogs in all facets, hitting .272 as a team while limiting South Suburban to a .116 attack percentage. Freshman setter
Grace Adams quarterbacked MATC's offense with a team-high 14 assists and six aces, while sophomore libero Kim Busateri anchored the defense with a match-high 16 digs.
"The team was solid tonight," Stormers head coach
Shel DeLisle said. "They were relaxed, but focused, as they stepped on the court. Both our defense and offense were on point with numbers exceeding our averages. Everyone got a chance at the ball which builds confidence and prepares the whole team to compete as we move through the season."
Freshman middle hitter
Annika Romine led the attack with eight kills and a .667 hitting percentage, while sophomore
Natalia Farrugia added eight kills on 12 swings (.400). Freshman setter
Hope Martens recorded a double-double with 13 assists and 10 digs. Sophomore
Rachel Krueger contributed six kills, four aces, four digs and two block assists.
MATC jumped on the Bulldogs early in each set, using aggressive serving and tenacious defense to build commanding leads. The Stormers totaled 14 service aces and six team blocks, with Romine and Krueger each tallying two block assists. As a team, MATC hit .353 in the first set, .190 in the second and .231 in the third.

MATC (19-5) will look to close out the week strong with a 6 p.m. home match Friday against College of Lake County.
