MADISON, Wis. — The Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers opened play at the Madison College Quad by sweeping Carl Sandburg College in straight sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-16) for their 24th win of the season, only to see that momentum stall in a 3-0 loss (15-25, 21-25, 16-25) to Sauk Valley later Friday, leaving MATC with a split on the day.
Match 1 (Friday):
MATC 3, Carl Sandburg 0 (25-19, 21-19, 25-16)
MATC closed the day with a balanced attack, registering 38 kills on a .214 hitting efficiency, alongside 62 digs, 13 block assists, two solo blocks and seven service aces.
Freshman outside hitter
Kayleah Laughlin led the Stormers with 15 points, posting 10 kills on .296 efficiency, 13 digs, two solo blocks, two block assists and two aces. Second-year outside hitter
Rachel Krueger chipped in seven kills, eight digs, two block assists and three aces, while sophomore
Kendall Revolinski added six kills on 18 attempts, three block assists and one dig.
In the backcourt, freshman setter
Hope Martens recorded a double-double with 16 assists and 10 digs. Freshman teammate
Grace Adams contributed 13 assists, eight digs and two kills on two swings.

The Stormers were held to 28 kills on a .111 hitting efficiency, managing just six service aces and one solo block. Defensively, they combined for 43 digs and 10 block assists.
Kayleah Laughlin paced the offense with 11 kills on 30 attempts (.167 efficiency), four digs, one service ace, one block assist and a match-high 13 points.
Natalia Farrugia added 13 points on five kills, three block assists, two aces and one dig.
Rachel Krueger chipped in five kills and seven digs, while Kim Busateri anchored the backcourt with a team-leading 21 digs. Freshman setter
