DANVILLE, Ill. - MATC advances to the 5th place game of the NJCAA Division II National Championship with a 92-85 win over North Central Missouri College.
Shelton Williams-Dryden and
Shamann Artis each scored 22 points to lead the Stormers. Williams-Dryden also had 12 rebounds.
Qi'Andre Washington finished with 12 points and two steals, and Ke'Varius "KJ" Taylor finished with 11 points.
MATC got off to a slow start early on and North Central Missouri was able to take advantage. North Central Missouri extended the lead to 10 points midway through the first half.
Once the Stormers settled down they made several runs and they were able to take a one-point lead into the halftime break. In the second half MATC did not give up the lead and outscored North Central Missouri 48-42.
The 5
th place game is scheduled for tomorrow (3/23/24) with a 2:00 PM tip-off. They will face the winner of Des Moines Area Community College vs Parkland College match-up.
