MATC defeated Joliet Junior College 73-71 in a North Central Community College Conference showdown.

Early on things were looking bleak for the Stormers. Near the end of the first half the men's basketball team found themselves down by 19 points, with a score of 28-47. Right before halftime the Stormers made a couple of defensive stops and were able to get a couple of steals and fast break layups to get the score to 32-47 before the halftime buzzer.
In less than nine minutes into the second half the Stormers eliminated a 15 point halftime deficit to bring the score to 54-53 with 11:14 left on the clock. The remainder of the second half was a back and forth contest.

Melvin Brown got the rebound and put it back with 2 seconds left on the clock. Joliet was able to move the ball down the floor for a last second shot from just beyond the arc that rimmed out.
Brown finished with 23 points and 8 rebounds leading the Stormers in both categories.Â
Jabari Hobson and Fair each had 8 points. Â
